9-11 Commission Final Report!

It’s probably strange to American folk that an Aussie has been patiently waiting a while for this, reading the staff statements and wondering just when the final report would come out. Just checking my timezones it seems the final report is about two full hours away from release.

For the uninitiated, the 9-11 Commission’s site can be found here, with a short explanation of its purpose on the front page.

George W. Bush originally tried to stop this commission, then took this stance:

President Bush and Vice President Cheney have offered to meet privately with Chairman Kean and Vice Chairman Hamilton, but prefer not to meet with all 10 Commissioners. The Commission hopes the President and Vice President will reconsider.

Hopefully this report, coupled with that other great resource by Mr Moore, should send Bush packing. Let’s hope Kerry (or whoever else wins) is determined, because there’s a lot of cleaning up to do. ;)

My only complaint is that it’s already late here and due to my early morning meeting for a home loan, I will have to wait to read it :| Oh well.
