It sounds a lot more exciting (and sci-fi) than it actually is, though.
The first confluence trip my mate Rob and I went on was an eye opener (in a few respects) to say the least. The main one was the Texas 29°S 151°E confluence.
The story is documented as unsuccessful visit #3 on the DCP site, so I won’t repeat it all here. Needless to say, it wasn’t an easy one to get to (one previous attempt to the spot by others was halted by a dust storm and an heart attack).
I found an interesting satellite picture of it just now, which shows in some detail how remote it is. We entered at the 151°E longitude (use your mouse on the image) at around 29.06 latitude, which is where the road gets its closest to the forest.
I feel as if I never want to go through what we did to get there again, but at the same time I want go back to get it done right. Time will tell.
