As you might have heard, NASA is sending the first manned mission into space since the Columbia disaster, slated for anywhere between May 15th to June 3rd.
Obviously safety is a concern, so as part of their safety awareness campaign they have made a fairly extensive (and expensive) mini-site about it, which goes into all sorts of details about safety aspects, crew biographies and that insulating foam. Just drop on over to www.nasa.gov to have a look, it runs as a flash intro to their main site. Judging by the effort put into it, you can assume this is a big deal for them. You even get Scott Bakula as a guide, which is a little odd, but Trekkies might get a kick out of it (or in my case, foggy Quantum Leap memories).
