Losing my music religion

Some of my collection.

It’s been one hell of a tough decision, but I’ve decided to sell my entire music collection, mainly comprised of CDs with a few cassettes on the side which I’ll add later. Don’t ask about the vinyl thoughI because I’m holding on to those for a while. :)

Collectors might wonder why I’m selling everything, particularly the rare items – to be honest my heart just isn’t in music collecting any more, and the majority of what I listen to now is on my Zen Xtra and not CD. There’s still sentimental value on the signed items and some of the harder to find EPs, but I’d rather other people complete their collections; they’ll undoubtedly appreciate it more than I do now.

Another reason I decided to sell was an auction I spotted late last year for a Rammstein single, Asche zu Asche. I soon listed my copy and ten days later it finished at an amazing $170. Not that I’m expecting that typicallyII but I figured if somebody wanted a copy that bad, chances are a lot more items I had were wanted badly as well. That coupled with the collection taking up dead space in a cupboardIII made me decide to part with it all.

I’ve listed the great majority of my regular single-disc albums on eBay and linked each auction to this post so people can see what else will be on the blocks in the future. Instead of just blindly listing items though, I’m taking suggestions – basically so I don’t waste my time listing items that nobody is interested in. Once a few people are interested in a particular item I’ll list it for a reasonable price so it’ll sell for certain.

If you’re interested in any of the items, keep the following in mind:

  • 99% of my collection is first-owner, meaning I bought it new and it’s still in mint condition.
  • There’s no photos, but if you’d like a particular cover or condition of an item let me know. Naturally once an item goes on eBay there’ll be full condition details and photos.
  • I have a fairly good idea of values, so don’t bother offering me an amount to sell something outright. ;)

I’ve had a lot of fun collecting music over the years, and I hope other people enjoy picking through my collection to better their own. :) Here’s my music collection – it’s a bit rough but should be easy enough to peruse.

I haven’t got into too much detail, but collectors should know enough from the catalogue numbers to work out what a particular copy is. To ask for more information on an item, or to suggest one that they’d like to see on eBay, either leave a comment to this post or for privacy use my contact form.

  1. You know who you are! []
  2. There are certainly a few, though. []
  3. Stored correctly mind you, I didn’t want to damage by neglect. []

I’m after prodigy experience. I’m currently bidding on prodigy music for the gilted generation, but I want experience too. I had my cd collection stolen. They were in it. If you put it on ebay soon, I’ll buy it for reasonable money. Thanks.
